- Porcelain Laminate Veneers
-
Chips, cracks, gaps, misalignments and discolorations
in the front teeth can be corrected by placement of porcelain laminate
veneers. These veneers are thin, custom made shells crafted of tooth
colored materials designed to cover the front side of the teeth.
They are painlessly placed over your front teeth to help you achieve
a dazzling smile. To read more details on porcelain
veneers from the Academy of General Dentistry, click here. The
page will open in a separate window.

- At-Home Whitening
-
If your smile is not as you'd like it because
of stained or yellowed teeth, you might consider an at-home whitening
program. Several studies have shown both in-office and at-home bleaching
to be safe and effective, and the at-home method is more economical.
The at-home tooth whitening system used at Paradise Dental Group
is fully approved by the American Dental Association, and combines
a custom-molded tooth tray with a professional formulated gel to
achieve brighter, whiter teeth in about two to three weeks. The
success rate depends upon the type of stain involved and your compliance,
but typically there is a two-shade improvement. Bleaching does not
lighten artificial materials such as resins, silicants, or porcelains.

- In-Office Whitening
-
If you're in a hurry for whiter teeth, you may
decide to have your teeth lightened immediately. Dr. Karimi
uses a system approved by the American Dental Association for in-office
whitening of teeth, and takes only about an hour to complete. A
protective material is placed over your gums to protect them and
then a specially formulated lightening agent is coated over the
teeth in three quick sessions, giving you a break every twenty minutes.
Some patients may experience slight gum irritation or tooth sensitivity,
which resolves when the treatment ends. Teens should wait for whitening
procedures until at least the age of 14, when the tooth's pulp is
fully formed, meaning the teen will experience less sensitivity.
Lightness should last from one to five years, depending on your
personal habits such as smoking and drinking coffee and tea. Click

from a non-profit organization, the Academy of General Dentistry.

- Tooth Colored (White) Fillings
-
In the past, the aesthetic appearance of a filling
was not considered to be as important as its function. Fortunately,
today fillings can also be used for significant cosmetic improvement.
No more metal showing in your teeth! And tooth colored fillings,
also known as composite or white fillings, are as strong as metal
fillings. Unlike metal fillings, you cannot tell that a tooth colored
filling is not part of the natural tooth, because the shade can
be matched almost exactly. Click

- Overlays
-
Porcelain overlays can be used to strengthen
weak teeth or replace old crowns with a completely natural look...
and best of all, no metal band at the gum line!

- Crowns
-
Significant tooth decay or fractures can adversely
affect your appearance. But today's technology provides us
with crowns that are beautiful and natural looking. They last
for years and unlike old fashioned crowns, there is no metal
band to begin showing after a few years if your gums begin
to recede. Beautiful, natural colored porcelain crowns are
used at Paradise Dental Group to protect weak teeth from breaking
or to restore teeth without anyone ever knowing it is not your
natural teeth. Learn more about
crowns

- Bridges
-
When a tooth is missing, the adjoining teeth
tend to shift into the empty space. Opposing teeth may also
begin to grow up or down into that space as well. These movements
cause not only an unflattering appearance, but it can cause
significant bite problems. A permanent dental bridge made of
today's advanced materials can prevent this occurrence, replacing
the missing tooth or teeth and helping you keep a beautiful
smile for your lifetime.

- Dental Cleaning
-
It's not 'just' a cleaning! Prevention
in dentistry leads to improved long term oral health and reduced
dental costs. Care by our certified dental hygienists encourages
a bright smile, fresh breath, and an overall good feeling of
personal security:
- Your entire mouth is thoroughly examined for gum disease, growths, lesions,
and any abnormalities that would affect your general health.
- Your teeth are cleaned and polished to remove plaque and
tartar both above and below the gumline, eliminating bacteria
that leads to cavities, bad breath, and gum disease.
- Fluoride is applied to teeth to prevent decay (for children),
and root sensitivity/root cavities (for adults).
- Sealants can be applied as necessary to the chewing surfaces
of childrens' teeth as a protection against future decay.
- Our dental hygienists customize a personal home and preventive
maintenance program for you. You are instructed as needed
in the proper methods of tooth brushing, flossing, and
adjunctive dental health devices.
Although your mouth may appear to be in good health at this
time, stresses, body changes, life changes, medications, illness,
and age can tax your immune system. Dental disease is a silent
invader, presenting itself in various forms such as puffy, bleeding
bums, cavities, oral cancer, or abscesses. Maintaining regular
appointments with your dental hygienist and follow ups with
the dentist offers you the assurance that any problems in regard
to your oral care will be addressed immediately.
